Show me some LOVE!

Finally my package with LOVE arrived :) :) :) and I'm super happy with what I've got!

Not sure anymore about how I discovered In Love with Fashion about two months ago, but it I can tell you my first visit to their web site was also when I placed my first order, you just gotta love it!

They have super cool stuff at good prices (with free worldwide delivery, shipping from the UK) and the quality is accordingly, totally in line with the price you pay (similar with HM, Zara & Co). The best thing about them though is not something you can see right away when browsing thru the site, it's the customer service! My first order somehow did not get thru to me, even if it arrived in Romania and my adress on the package was correct, it got sent back to the UK...there was not so much love with the Romanian Post initially. The Love Staff was always in contact with me, answering my mails within a few hours, offering a full refund as I had not received the order or a voucher to comepensate for the loss, while they send it back to me the second day it arrived at their office! Them - super fast & super friendly, me -very impressed and to be back soon to get me some more Love!

I ordered this cute pussy bow dress and the cool wide leg pants in copper (total 40 EUR on sale), both are better looking in reality than on the web site. Just can't wait to them these new babies out to town :)

November 17th is V-Day for H&M

Yes, ladies, a little bit longer and the Versace H&M collection will be available online and in 300 stores worldwide!
The few precious collection items have the true Versace style written all over them: the bold colors, the lively prints, the studds, the sequins, the leather and the sexy glamour touch with a sometimes thin, thin border line to slutty and kitsch....but what the heck, that's Versace and that's what we want Donatella to keep delivering to the fashion world.

A sneak preview below, first pics released just a few days ago...
I just gotta have the black leather dress!!!

HE's the most beautiful sHE

First, take a look at those pictures and this surreal, androgynous beauty...the ice blond hair, the full, sensual lips, the delicate nose and the bedroom eyes...super hot & sexy for sure!

NOW, answer honestly: would you have ever imagined it's a man? ...posing as one of the most sexiest and beautiful women? Andrej Pejic, the "gender-bender" sensation is one of the most successful and most wanted models of the moment. The 19 year old Serbian, growing up in Australia, gave his modeling career a real boost when moving to London and meeting up with sarah Doukas, the woman who discovered and promoted Kate Moss, back in the days when nobody else seemed to believe she could make it in the fashion business. It was her suggestion to have Andrej available for both female and male modeling jobs, due to his fascinating duality. Once Jean Paul Gaultier laid eyes on him, fashion magic instantly happened, Andrej even walked the catwalk as a JPG bride! Then Marc Jacobs also booked him for his SS11 campaign and ever since, the amazing jobs just keep coming in!

Andrej shocked in the photo shoot for Dossier and became really famous when these pics were banned! Why? Because no breasts could be seen! He was even voted among the most sexiest women by the FHM readers, while everybody was amazed and shocked to realize it was a man who got all those votes. The FHM guys did not even know what to do with the results :)

He had tough times growing up as a special boy, hiding when playing with dolls, trying to be as manly as his brother Igor and make his parents proud, preferring to be isolated from all the rest he was so different from and who would not make much of his non standard looks. Then, moving to an art school he got the so much needed encouragement to be who he really was, a boy of a shocking beauty, not a transvestite, not wishing to be a girl, but simply just being himself.

And that's what it comes to in our lives really, we have to have the guts to be who we are,  in order to LIVE, it's beautiful to be different, if others cannot handle that, it's their problem only!

RESPECT, Andrej!

P.S. I know I was gone for a while, thanks to those who missed me :) I took a very well deserved holiday, to be shared soon :)

My Mom, the Style Icon

Insipred by a post on Dolls Factory mentioning a book about stylish moms and leading me to discover the blog that orginated it, I have planned this most special post on my blog for quite some time now...Am feeling excited, anxious and nervous at the same time, knowing none of those words or pictures will actually express my love and admiration for her, MY MOM! When emotions are so strong it just feels that no words are powerful enough...

The brains, the looks, the big mouth :) and a great passion for fashion and style...these and so much more I inherited from an amazing woman, my lovely mom! I just love looking at her inspiring pics, especially the ones from the 60s and 70s, admiring all her special looks, with mostly handmade, all unique clothes! An unsophisticated expression of style and class, with an extremly discrete sexy note and a personal touch of  good taste and creativity, a mix of girlie and a young, strong woman, always surprising and admirable - that's how I would describe her fashion statement...and it still feels like an understatment!

Most of the clothing items you see below, from the stunning wedding dress to that lovely swimsuit are her design, truly amazing DIY projects! Starting from the 60s to the 70s and also for the decades to follow one thing is always true: Fashion fades, her style remains! And the most beautiful part of it all is that my mom has cherished all her most precious dresses, suits, skirts, pants and accesories and I can enjoy wearing them today! My most precious vintage treasures I got from my mom :)

I will let those pictures speak for themselves, mentioning though that they actually offer a very poor view on my mom's unique beauty and style in real life...

A Lady Loves Her Pencil Skirt

The 1940s & a fashion genius called Christian Dior left an extraordinar legacy to the fashion world, while a small part of it was a simple cut, tight and narrow skirt going just over the knees: the pencil skirt. Pencil skirts are one of the classiest clothing items for me, a must have in a lady's wardrobe, uniting elegance and sex appeal in an amazing way! Would I dress up elegantly every day (which I obviously don't), I guess I would live in pencil skirts :)

When you need to dress up (interview, convention, business lunch etc.), but not sure if a suit would be too much (or just too boring :) !), a pencil skirt paired with a ruffled shirt, a knit top or even a plain white shirt accesorized with a statement necklace is definitely a choice you cannot go wrong with! Don't ever think of going for any other shoes than sexy high heels, unless you're 2m tall :)

Attending a wedding of dear friends at the civil registry office, was the perfect occasion to slip into my grey Esprit pencil skirt, pairing it with a knit Ziggo top and high heeled Oxfords. The oversized pearls gave the whole outfit a little playful touch, just like my carrot red hair! I had a slim brown belt prepared for this outfit, but forgot to put it on in the rush of being on time...

Bling Bling Alert - The Statement Necklace

When it comes to accesories sometimes big is just better and more is just the right amount, especially in regards to statement jewellery, like big earrings, rings or sensational statment necklaces, my newest passion. I just can't get enough of them! One of those biggies can do so much for the most simple of outfits, like styling up a combo of comfy jeans shorts and a white top or taking a simple dress from normal to fabulous.

Probably it's either love or hate, since statement necklaces can really not go by unnoticed. For me it's LOVE and a must wear for this season and others to come! Dare to wear BIG!

Below are my current faves: oversized fake pearls, a golden-black chandelier necklace and a bit of the ocean magic :)

A Playground of Tulle and Lace called Chotronette

Sunny Iasi.

Me, my sweet Mina & her fiance Alex drove off to pick a very special dress for an even more special occasion, while I had the great honor to play stylist (thanks, Mina <3).

A bit outside of Iasi, a courtyard with container offices, men in overalls at work in the back, two beautiful, enormous and furry dogs barking at us coming closer, peaceful geese, some walking around, some sitting by the water and then a cute redhead greeting us and holding the door open to a fashionistic wonderland, the Chotronette showroom!

In absolute contrast with the rough edge courtyard, there they were, hanging peacefully and colorful, delicious lace and tulle dresses ...and I was mesmerized, this was the tulle paradise!
Look, feel, touch, try on, smile and then the same routine again...both me and Mina felt like two happy little girls playing with their favorite toys while our adorable redheaded hosts Silvia & Laura offered their full support & understanding with us carrying half of the clothes to and from the changing room:)

And then...finally, we made a decision and the perfect engagement dress was designed in our minds - to be delivered soon!

Pick your style, choose your colors, send in your measures and a little, tulle Chotronette fairy tale could be yours!...and the prices are great!!!

Thank you so much Silvia & Laura for making us feel welcome, comfortable & super happy in your showroom!
