The Vintage Silk Jackpot

A silk shirt for 1 (correct O-N-E!) dollar is an acquisition that gives you an amazing feeling, and truly passionate vintage shoppers understand that well: nothing really compares to finding such a little gem in between junk. A great bargain is always a special shopping experience, only for me, second hand shop bargains are 10x better, like a little drug that I always keep coming back to.

Silk shirt & jeans? Definitely yes, for a refined casual look in the spirit of "Working class girl goes Lady"

My Style Tip: Oversized shirts are always to be combined with slim bottoms, otherwise you might look like Alice shrunken in Wonderland. It's important to use the right "accents" in order to define your shapes, despite the XL top. I like the combination with a statement necklace to put an accent on the neckline. When not wearing anything on top of the shirt, I always choose rolling up the sleeves to reduce some of the "oversize effect" and define the silhouette in the upper part of the body. Use belts or tuck it in to define your waistline.

Ocean Breeze and Zebra Print

Helloooooooooooooo...still around :) and still struggling with too many things to do and too little time to fit them all into a 24h day! Blogging was left a bit aside due to other passions, but since I missed you and since some of you missed me (thanks for the sweet messages), I am back sharing some pics from September last year (yes...that old!!!) with you, featuring a double print look.

My Style Tip: dare to combine prints!!!...We have heard on and on since we were small and clueless that print & print do not go well together, ever! Well, I would disagree, cause if you follow some very, very basic rules...different prints can love each other! Rulz: 1. go for a similar color palette on the prints chosen and 2. go for only two, maximum three different prints at once. Easy, right?

Grass Green, Turquoise & Metallic Silver

Hey Sweeties,

enjoying some lovely days at the seaside and quickly sharing a simple & comfy summer night outfit idea with you.
My Style Tip: Make sure you own a simple, light, viscose or cotton dress in WHITE for this summer. Use bold statement necklaces in powerful colors to accesorize it and go for flashy shoes, either in style or color. Flat sandals in a metallic silver look could be an idea. If it get's a bit chillier at night, dare to go for another strong, electric color in addition to the necklace to make the whole outfit pop. Keep the make up light, let your skin breath :)

Summer comes in Stripes

For me stripes and Capris just scream out summer and always make me think: sea, sun & sandy beaches! Regardless of trends, I guess I'll always wear striped shirts, they're a permanent resident in my overcrowded wardrobe. You can combine stripes with simple jeans for an unsophisticated look or go for powerful colors like electric blue, coral, green to make it pop....or, what I love most: is wearing stripes with various prints. They go great with flowers, geometrical shapes or whatever fun print you might find...like...cupcakes? (the print on my new fave skirt - to be shared soon).
Enjoy your striped summer, honeys!

50s Inspired

Oooooooh SWEET 50s! I am repeating myself, I know, but I for one am crazy about the 50s fashion style and I could loose myself in watching pictures, magazines or movies from those golden days.

I've created this 50s inspired look on a sunny holiday, daydreaming about the wonderful fashion decade when women were as feminine and sexy as it got, without being too revealing or vulgare. Sexyness had style and class in the 50s, some of it we've sadly lost along with fashion evolution ...

The dress: cost me 1(one!!!) USD :) and I got it new(!), the silk scarf is vintage and a special gift from my aunt, shoes: Il Passo.

Dress like a doll, feel like a doll

I totally adore this dress: the vintage inspiration cut, my favorite color, the unique handmade collar and my most adored brocart, all combined into the perfect dress!!!...and it was a record shopping spree for me: 2 minutes after Isabelle (Lachatterie) posted the shots on Facebook, I was chatting with her and reserving this little wonder for myself, just a few minutes before she got another request for the unique piece. Meant to be mine, that's what it was!
