Cheers! To An Amazing 2011!

Whishing you all a wonderful year to come, full of hapiness, health, love and...of course...great fashion!
This is my last post for this year, see you all very soon!

Guest Post: Silvia & the Amazing Unawatuna Dress

Pure SERENDIPITY! Back from the country of Serendib, Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, I not only got fascinated by the gem stones, tea and wonderful wild beaches but also by some superb fabrics. While wandering around @ UNAWATUNA beach I discovered this small sewing manufacture and 20 mins later I was the proud owner of a couple of meters of pure&colorful magic.
Back in Romania I saw this ad from Mango with Scarlett Johansson wearing a cool dress and decided my Sri Lankan fabrics were perfect for this! Check the result below. Awesome, unique and inspiring. Pure HAPPYMAKING :-)

I totally love this dress, the fabric is indeed magical!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland...

Usually I only like snow when on the ski slopes and never in the city, as it only takes a few hours or max one day for the snow to become grey-ish and muddy, but still, on this day, I totally loved the winter in the city :)

Sun and snow are a wonderful combination and I felt fully energized by the landscape, jumping and playing around in the snow like a little girl! Those pictures made and still make me feel totally christmas-y!

As you know already, I like to combine delicate with more rough fabrics and I just love to pair leather or "heavy duty" knit wear with tulle or satin. I also adore a more urban ballerina look, when going for the not so sexy or feminine, but outrageously comfy UGG boots, combined with a delicate tutu. As for black and pale pink/nude, I think it always rocks!

Jacket: Stradivarius; Skirt: Kiabi; Boots: UGG Australia; Gloves & Scarf: George

The BEST Christmas Present :)

Like every year, I spent this year's Christmas holidays at home with my loved ones and it was amazing! ...and still is :)
Santa was really generous this year, so I must have been a real good girl! I've received so many beautiful gifts, much more than I had expected...and I most gladly accept them all, 'cause Santa knows best!

My mommy and my brother surprised me with a wondeful present: a Singer sewing machine :) :) :) :) :)

I guess now it's time to start creating and handcrafting even more! Am still a beginner at sewing, but am determined to become more experienced this year, since I've got the perfect tool kit!

Stay tooned :)

Colors of the Rainbow

Hey Dears,

Crazy days lately and not much time for posting...but here is another set of pics for you to enjoy. I agree, they're not the best outfit display pics, they were meant to be mere party shots, so be indulgent, please :)
Anyhow, this is the outfit I put together for our corporate Christmas theme-party, after struggling a lot, since dressing rainbow-isch in terms of colors is not my style mood at the moment. Nevertheless, outfit was a success in the end, while the pary was an even greater one :)
T-shirt: Pepe Jeans (Andy Warhol limited edition) - I totally adore Marilyn, so finding this shirt with rainbow colors on it in due time for the party, was faith :); Shorts: Stradivarius; Socks: Goldenpoint; Pumps: Uterqüe, Hair Bow: improvised using the belt that came with the shorts, DIY by Meelusha

Hugs and Kisses,
Christmas-y Meelusha

Time for a Change - Goldwell Red Hair

Hey dears,
I know I am long overdue with this post, got a few inquiries already about the change of look announced some time ago, but the bad weather kept me from taking pics earlier :)
Inspired by the amazing autumn colors (and by the London trends I fell in love with in June!!!) I decided to finally go for this change I had in my mind for some time now. Since I trust my hairstylist 100%, I was sure the color would be exactly what I wished for. It faded out a bit compared to how it was initially, but I still adore it and will definitely keep my red hair for a while :)
Let me know what you think!

Hugs,
Meelusha

Playing with Vogue Looklet and This Winter's Must Haves

Ladies, try it out and you'll fall in love with it instantly!!!

Browsing the Vogue page, I discovered this amazing feature and I spent the last hour daydreaming about my "Winter '10 Must Haves" photo shoot assignment as a stylist :)  ...so I just had to share my discovery with you guys! It's so much fun to style around a model of your choice, you'll find the most beautiful clothes from the coolest designers, mixed up with Zara and Topshop items and spiced up with Vintage treasures... You can experiment the newest trends and combine like crazy to find the best looks.

For this winter season there are definitely a few things that cannot be missing from your closet and my advice is to invest in some key items, where you can be a bit more generous in regards to the budget that will definitely spice up your older pieces and make sure you're 100% in style!

There definitely has to be a maxi dress or skirt in your wardrobe this winter, while I love to combine delicate fabrics in nude, beige or white with more "fierce" textures like leather (aviator jackets are totally in!) or with extra large sweaters accesorized with a belt to mark the waist for a feminine look (Girls, start raiding your man's closet ASAP! It's the cheapest way to get one of this winter's hottest trends! ). And yes, faux fur ruuuuuulz right now, so go crazy with collars and hats! UGGs are and will always be in style, gotta have a pair of those as well, at least a pair, cause ladies, we do deserve to feel warm and comfy and there's nothing like UGGs when it come to this feeling :) Baroque is calling, as brocade is also making it's way up the trend ladder! In terms of colors camel is one of the big favorites.

And: do not forget to accesorize, ALWAYS: gloves, berets, hats, bracelets, necklaces, belts and so on and so on, always!

Hugs & Kisses,
Meelusha

Playing with Autumn

This autumn/winter season I'm definitely set on browns and beiges mostly and my creativity seems a bit "hampered" when thinking about going for any other cromatic base :) Browns and Beiges just feel so warm and comfy, are just perfect for blondes or red heads and you can really be daring by combining them with colors like: electric or dark blue, orange, turquoise, green in order to create a sparkling contrast.
This is my last look with blonde hair for a while...I went for a change inspired by the amazing autumn colors :) Coming up soon!
Dress: Pull & Bear (a great birthday present, thanks Oni & Dana); sweater: Koton; clutch: H&M; gloves: Reserved; boots: Progetto Glam
